Although we offer mobile servicing it doesn’t detract from the variety of servicing work and other jobs we can do on your second home. We offer the full range of work that you would expect in a traditional brick and mortar garage.

We can advise on servicing frequencies and your legal responsibilities when driving on UK roads with your caravan or motorhome. So, simply get in touch at the bottom of this page and we will be more than happy to help.

WHAT SERVICING DO I NEED?

mobile-caravan-motorhome-servicing

It stands to reason that motorhomes require regular servicing. They are, after all a standard vehicle with an engine and everything that comes along with that. However, a lot of people don’t service their caravans nearly as often as they should. Caravan and motorhome servicing is incredibly important, not just to comply with current UK legislation, but also to ensure that your holiday time isn’t interrupted by some nasty problem with your second home. Nobody wants to wake up on the first day of their holiday to a leak or a motorhome that won’t start. Servicing your motorhome or caravan certainly won’t guarantee that you won’t have any issues but it will make them much less likely.

You should be getting your caravan and motorhome serviced at least once a year. Typical things to be checking for are:

^

Gas system - leaks and efficiency

It goes without saying that gas can be extremely dangerous both from fire and also suffocation. It is imperative that you have your system regularly checked for leaks and efficiency.

^

brakes - handbrake / drum

Brakes are a fundamental part of any vehicle. On a caravan servicing the braking system is critical. The tension of the handbrake, the brakeaway cable, drums/pads etc all need to be in tip top condition.

^

tyre condition

As with any road vehicle the tyres need to be in good condition and comply with current legislation for the country that you are using the vehicle in.

^

damp testing

Damp testing can be a good early warning sign that something is going wrong and can save you costly repairs and remedial work for damp and mould ingress.

^

battery testing and changing

You want to keep your battery in good condition in order to get great performance out of it. Things like motor movers use a lot of power and checking the charge and capacity of your battery regularly is very important.

^

engine servicing

As with all motor vehicles, regularly maintaining the engine is important to ensure trouble-free motoring. Holidays are easily spoiled by an ill-timed breakdown due to lack of servicing!

We offer all types of servicing and repair for either caravans or motorhomes. And, what’s more, we travel to you! We offer fully mobile servicing and repair so why not get in touch now and we will be delighted to ensure that your second home stays in tip top condition all year round.

FAQ's

When do I pay - and how?

We take payment when the work is completed and we accept card payment, cheque, cash or bank transfer.

Why should I use a member of the Approved Workshop Scheme (AWS)?

If you have a caravan or motorhome that is still covered by the manufacturer's warranty to comply with most manufacturer's warranty conditions you must use either a member of the Approved Workshop Scheme (AWS) or a company Approved by the Manufacturer's warranty. Do not just assume you will be OK, always ask whether this is the case when booking.

Do I have to take my caravan back to the dealer I bought it from?

No you don't have to, we can come to you at your home, caravan site or where you store your caravan and still up hold your warranty.

What preparation do I need to make before you service my caravan?

We do need reasonable access around the outside of your caravan (about 3 feet clearance all around the outside of the caravan) and we will also need the caravan to be on fairly level and solid ground. We do need a reasonable amount of space inside your caravan, but you do not need to empty it out. We also need certain items to complete your service (water, water pump or inlet hose, 230v hook-up where possible, and service handbook). If your caravan is on a caravan site or in a storage area it is important that you inform the owners or wardens that you have arranged for us to service or repair your caravan.

How long will the service take to complete?

A motorhome habitation service will usually take around three hours. A single axle tourer service will take around four hours and a little longer for a twin axle tourer.

During the service, will the gas appliances in my tourer or motorhome also be serviced?

Gas appliances will be safety checked but not serviced as part of the basic service; you can ask for this to be carried out (at an extra cost). Please note some appliance manufacturers will not continue any warranty into the second or third year unless the appliance has been serviced annually - check with your appliance manufacturer.

What area do you cover?
